Erkka was planning on taking the day bus to Nha Trang and then the night bus from Nha Trang to Hoi An the next day because it was cheaper then taking the night bus all the way from Dalat. Vanessa and I were planning on going to Hoi An anyway, so we decoded to just join him.
We set off to find the cheapest bus tickets and it started to pour. We walked around for quite awhile before finally finding the best prices. It was only after we were soaking wet and walking back that we realized that we'd gone on a wild goose chase to save 50cents each.
It was cold and rainy and we wanted something hot to drink, but none of us wanted to pay much, so we decided to go to a street stand to buy some tea bags in hopes that one of our hotels would provide us with some hot water for free.
We found a little stand out on the street and were trying to explain to the lady that we wanted some tea, but she did not understand us so we had to play the hot, cold guessing game. She kept reaching for everything on the shelves except for the tea. One point she even picked up the tea, we all yelled yes, yes, but then she just moved the tea so she could grab the coffee behind it. It was so funny and even if we were over charged for the tea, her laughter and watching her try to figure out what we were trying to say made it all worth it.
